Job Description

 

(Login for Information) seeks a Director for the Division of Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine.  Appointment rank may be at either the tenure track or clinical (non-tenure) track at the Associate Professor or Professor level consistent with clinical experience and research interest.   The Director will lead the division’s clinical and educational services as well as provide leadership to our growing Pediatric Pulmonary Unit. The Director will benefit from institutional resources and will have the opportunity to expand both the clinical and interdisciplinary research program.

The Division of Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine is committed to providing outstanding clinical care, education for trainees of all levels, and the advancement of knowledge through the pursuit of biomedical research. Clinical services are provided in the outpatient setting and in the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital care units. We are regionally and nationally recognized for our expertise.

Requirements:

Must hold an MD/DO degree, or equivalent

Board certified or eligible in Pediatrics, or equivalent

Board certified or eligible Allergy/Immunology and/or Pulmonology

Tenure track candidates must have evidence of scholarly investigation

Licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Iowa

Demonstrated experience working effectively in a welcoming and respectful workplace environment

Desirable qualifications:

5 or more years of experience in an academic health system

Strength in teaching and scholarly pursuits

Ability to develop and implement clinical programs

Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills

Demonstrated history of current and externally funded scholarly activity

For its 2023-24 edition of “Best Children’s Hospitals,” U.S. News & World Report ranked UI Stead Family Children's Hospital in six pediatric specialties: neonatology, diabetes and endocrinology, nephrology, neurology and neurosurgery, orthopedics, and urology.
