Job Description
Due to community growth and a primary care shortage, a Nevada Medical Center is opening several new family practice offices around the city. The candidate would have the option of either an outpatient-only practice (hospitalists are available for inpatient coverage) or a traditional practice. The hospital will staff the practices and cover overhead costs, and will offer a guaranteed salary for the physicians for the first year. The physicians would be independent contractors, rather than employees. An additional monthly stipend will also be available to physicians who supervise a mid-level provider. Call coverage will be available. This practice is located on the eastern side of the Sierra Nevada Mountains in the Reno-Sparks area (catchment area 290,000) approximately one-half hour from Lake Tahoe and a couple hours from Sacramento, CA. This community has a small town atmosphere with big city amenities. Recreational activities include snow and water sports, tennis, golf, mountain climbing, etc. This area is experiencing a 5% rapid growth rate with extremely affordable housing, a good school system and wonderful climate.
