Job Description

La Crosse, Wisconsin - Gastroenterology
Job Description
A board certified/eligible gastroenterologist is needed to join the Gastroenterology Department at Mayo Health System, in La Crosse, WI, which currently includes three gastroenterologists, a nurse practitioner and a physician assistant. A gastroenterologist from Mayo-Rochester (current Chair of the GI Department) also sees patients at the hospital two days a week. Our open position is due to the retirement of one of our GI physicians. This is a general Gastroenterology practice, including the opportunity to do a variety of procedures. An interest in ERCP is welcome. Call will be shared equally among the GI physicians (1:4). Referrals come from within Mayo Health System, a multi-specialty group/healthcare network with 200+ physicians/associate providers, including clinics at 12 locations, serving a primary care population base of 240,000 in west-central WI, southeast MN and northeast IA. Patient referrals also come from non-affiliated providers within a 60-mile radius of La Crosse, WI. For those interested in teaching, our staff physicians have the opportunity to be involved with the La Crosse-Mayo Family Medicine Residency Program.

A new state-of-the-art GI Endoscopy Suite, using the Mayo Clinic model, including ERCP capability and a dedicated esophageal motility room, was recently completed. The Endoscopy Unit is immediately adjacent to the GI Clinic, located in the Hospital's main medical facilities in La Crosse.
