Child Abuse Pediatrician
Stead Family Department of Pediatrics
The Stead Family Department of Pediatrics seeks a child abuse pediatrician at the rank of Associate (non track), Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor (tenure or non-tenure track). The individual selected will join the Division of General Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine to provide patient care, teaching, and consultative services as a child abuse pediatrician and general pediatrician.
Must hold an MD/DO degree, or equivalent
Board certified or eligible in Pediatrics, or equivalent
Board certified or eligible in Child Abuse Pediatrics, or equivalent
License or eligible for licensure in the State of Iowa
Clinical experience in the management of child abuse and neglect cases
Clinical experience in general pediatrics and adolescent medicine in an academic setting
Experience in patient-oriented research
Teaching competence in pediatrics for medical students and residents
Evidence of scholarly activity
Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal communication skills

It is the only university-affiliated hospital in Iowa devoted solely to the care of infants, children, adolescents and young adults, and is Iowa’s only accredited Level 1 Regional Resource Pediatric Trauma Center. In 2016-17 University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital ranked in eight pediatric specialties in the Best Children’s Hospitals U.S. News and World Report, including cancer, cardiology and heart surgery, diabetes and endocrinology, neonatology, nephrology, orthopedics, pulmonology, and urology, and is the only hospital in Iowa to be nationally ranked by U.S. News and World Report for children’s care.
