Bone Marrow Transplant Specialist
Stead Family Department of Pediatrics
The Stead Family Department of Pediatrics seeks a Bone Marrow Transplant specialist at the rank of Associate (non tenure), Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor (tenure or non-tenure track). The individual selected will join the Division of Hematology/Oncology to provide patient care, teaching, and consultative services.
Must hold an MD/DO degree, or equivalent
Board certified or eligible in Pediatrics
Board certified or eligible in hematology/oncology
Completed fellowship training and certification in Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant or at least 3 years experience working as a pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant physician.
Licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Iowa
Experience in patient-oriented research
Teaching competence in pediatrics for medical students and residents
Evidence of scholarly activity
Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills

The Stead Family Department of Pediatrics comprises the medical and research staff of UI Children’s Hospital. The University of Iowa Children’s Hospital is one of the nation’s top-ranked pediatric care and research institutions. It is the only university-affiliated hospital in Iowa devoted solely to the care of infants, children, adolescents and young adults, and is Iowa’s only accredited Level 1 Regional Resource Pediatric Trauma Center. In 2016-17 the University of Iowa Children's Hospital ranked in eight pediatric specialties in the Best Children’s Hospitals U.S. News and World Report, including cancer, cardiology and heart surgery, diabetes and endocrinology, neonatology, nephrology, orthopedics, pulmonology, and urology, and is the only hospital in Iowa to be nationally ranked by U.S. News and World Report for children’s care. A new 189-bed children’s hospital is scheduled to open in 2016.
