Outpatient Family Medicine - Northern Indiana

Practice Description: Primary care family practice medicine in a community of 50,000 with a county service area of 175,000. 36 physician multi-specialty clinic. Only multispecialty group in county. 17 medical/surgical specialties. MGMA 'Superior Performing' group 7 consecutive years.

Patient Care Mix: Primary care to all ages typical of Family Medicine including neonatal care and pediatrics. No OB

Office: 4 ½ days per week in office. (Closed ever Friday @ 12 Noon). Every 5th Saturday in office coverage (3- 4 hours) for acute problems/work ins. Average 20 patients per day.

Call Rotation: Full time hospitalists provide 24/7 rounding coverage.

Compensation: Annual guarantee of $175,000 plus worked RVU incentive 2nd year.

Membership/Partnership: Within 2 years. Offers additional income sources from clinic ancillary pool, shared ASC and Building LLC profits.

Reimbursement Environment: No managed care contracts, excellent fee for service reimbursement, all commercial and PPO insurance companies.

Residency/ Fellowship preferences: Completion of university family medicine residency, expected to be board certified at time of hire or within three years.

Number of existing physicians in specialty: Five family medicine physicians. Twenty-eight employed by local hospital.

Description of Practice environment (number of patient rooms, staff compliment, and equipment available): Three exam rooms plus private office; one RN or LPN and share a medical assistant and receptionist/secretary with other family medicine physicians in a "pod" arrangement. GE Centricity EMR.

Description of Hospital environment (as it applies to your specialty): Modern, financially strong, full service 312-bed single community hospital. 16 bed ICU, 54 bed PCU. Hospital located less than 1 mile from Clinic. Good working relationships with hospital administration and medical staff in our community. Independent pediatrics group and two OB/Gyn groups serving population.
