Strong F.P. and mid-level medical community forms a huge referral base, so the specialist practicies consultant-level medicine and performs many operations a week. Strong laparoscopic and uro-gyn skills a plus. Comfort backing FPs and midwives is essential. Collegial relationships ensure liberal consultation and transfer of care as indicated. Our Birth Center has about a 16% C/s rate and excellent safety statistics, with about 60 births/month. 1/4 call, with many quiet nights as most normal births take place w/out the OB..
