Job Description

Nurse Practitioner – Oncology  

$100,000 to $130,000

 

Work as the Clinical Content Manager (an oncology advance practice nurse) who develops and maintains the practices’ Oncology Evidence-based Library.

Library contains over 4000 evidence-based oncology treatment regimens used to support quality cancer care and its reimbursement. These oncology Library regimens support the s pre-authorization process.

 

Company has over 20 locations (NJ, MD, CT) and sees over 20,000 ne patients annually. They are one of the country’s largest cancer physician networks.

 

This position will be in New Jersey based just 15 minutes from Fort Lee, 30 minutes to Secaucus and North Bergen, 30-45 minutes to NYC. However, due to Covid-19, all positions are remote based until company transitions back into office.

 

Job Summary:

  • The Clinical Content Manager is a detail-oriented, experienced oncology nurse who loves learning and using their knowledge.
  • The successful applicant will review national clinical practice guidelines and analyze relevant oncology research to build and maintain the Library under the supervision of the Medical Director.
  • The successful applicant will also review and help automate client Medical Policy as well as Medicare policy and coverage determinations.
  • The Clinical Content Manager is responsible for the accuracy and comprehensiveness of the Library.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Current Active Unrestricted New Jersey APN Nursing License
  • OCN certification preferred
  • Master's Degree in Nursing
  • 5 years prior experience in Oncology
  • Research & Writing experience
  • General and disease-specific Oncology expertise including cancer classification, staging, diagnosis, treatment, and standards of care
  • Strong knowledge of oncology practice
  • Knowledge of insurance industry and payer medical policy preferred
  • Demonstrated excellence in attention to detail and documentation skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software (e.g., Outlook, Word, and Excel)
  • Experience with content/data management software preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of cancer genomics and biomarkers preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with team members
  • Ability to balance multiple competing priorities and adhere to timelines

 

Your Day:

  • Build and review oncology treatment regimens for the Library based on clinical studies and oncology clinical practice guidelines and standards of care
  • Review and update Library regimens
  • Review and create rules to enable client Medical Policy, Oncology Pathways, and Medicare coverage determinations
  • Improve Library content and the processes used to develop and maintain it
  • Collaborate extensively with colleagues to ensure Library accuracy, currency, and consistency
  • Conduct medical literature searches and review and interpret the results of clinical studies
  • Communicate the rationale for content-related decisions to team members and clients
  • Participate in the training and continuing education of staff
  • Participate on project teams to improve Library clinical content and software functionality
