Sutter Medical Group (SMG) is seeking a BE/BC full-time, fellowship-trained Neurointerventional Radiologist to support our growing practice in the Sacramento area.

This position is a full-time, 100% Neurointerventional Radiology position supporting one CSC and one TSC approximately twenty miles apart.

  • 185-weekday NIR shifts, 123 primary care shifts (1:3 primary call)

  • Two biplanes at each site: Sutter Sacramento (CSC): Artis Zee and Phillips, with a planned build for Siemens Icono by late 2023. Sutter Roseville (TSC): Siemens Icono, Artis S, to be replaced by an additional Siemens Icono

Practice Overview:

SMG provides Neurointerventional services for two advanced stroke centers, Sutter Medical Center Sacramento (CSC) and Sutter Roseville Medical Center (TSC). The Neurointerventional practice offers complete service with one NIR staffed at each site daily. Practice includes a dedicated biweekly clinic within the Sutter Neuroscience clinic, inpatient and outpatient services at both hospitals with dedicated biplane suites, and referrals from five-spoke PSC facilities. Our group primarily treats acute ischemic stroke, SAH, AVM, Dural fistulae, pulsatile tinnitus, venous malformations, IIH, CSF leak, pediatric neurovascular conditions, and spine intervention: vertebroplasty, ESI, spinal RFA, lumbar drains, and spinal bone biopsies. 16 CAQ neuroradiologists cover the practice at both sites, one cerebrovascular surgeon and a pediatric neurosurgeon at CSC, pediatric ENT, and neuro-ophthalmology. Stroke neurology coverage is provided by vascular neurologists and neuro intensivists on a 24/7 basis for acute stroke triage along with RAPID.AI at the hub and spoke sites.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnostic Neuroradiology and Neurointerventional fellowship completion
  • ABR BE/CE
  • Comfortable with an independent call for mechanical thrombectomy, aneurysm coiling
  • Proficient with spine procedures including vertebroplasty, lumbar ESI
  • Comfortable performing pediatric cerebral angiography
  • Comfortable reading diagnostic neurovascular studies
  • Opportunities to grow in both clinical and non-clinical roles within the practice
