A facility that provides 24/7, community-based support for adults with serious mental illness, especially those who have experienced or are at risk of homelessness is seeking a psychiatrist for locum tenens coverage. Clients often present with co-occurring substance use disorders. Their model is a mobile, mulitdisciplinary model. They are aimed at adults with/ persistent mental health challenges -- who have struggled with traditional outpatient care models. Many participants face housing instability or are involved in the criminal justice system.
The program is based in a small, centrally located office within Kings County, Californiasituated just outside the main downtown area in a quiet, accessible neighborhood. The location offers a mix of residential and light commercial surroundings, making it convenient for both staff and clients. There is ample parking on-site, and the space is designed for team collaboration, field prep, and documentation between visits.
While most of the care takes place in the communityincluding visits to client homes, shelters, and transitional housing throughout Kings Countythe office serves as the operational hub. From here, staff launch mobile visits and coordinate care across the broader region. The countys size and geography mean that providers cover both rural and city-adjacent areas, offering a unique blend of urban outreach and small-town connection.
The preferred schedule is to work on a Wednesday or Friday remotely. EMR is SMARTCARE, creds take 3-5 weeks. Equipment provided by LT.com.
