Critical Care-Surgical Single Specialty Group job located in Washington

Regional Hospital is seeking an Acute Care Surgeon to join a surgical team of four.  This opportunity is available due to one of the surgeons relocating. 

Highlights:

• 175 24-hour call shifts per year at $420,000/year.
• Ideal candidate can start in October 2022 or sooner.
• General surgeon with 10 years or more of experience preferred.
• The surgeon will be joining another acute care surgeon and two general surgeons.
• Call requirement is typically in 7-10 day stretches.
• Call coverage is for Pullman Regional Hospital, covering all the emergency general surgery call, and periodically cover call for another critical access hospital that is 15 minutes away.

 This award-winning, not-for-profit critical access hospital has a very active medical staff, progressive leadership, and a teaching affiliation with the University of Washington Medical School.  As a critical access hospital with 25 beds, the census fluctuates.  The hospital has an open ICU and provides care for medical and surgical patients including hemodynamic monitoring and treatment and ventilator management.  They provide primary admissions for on-call surgeons (who cover 3 hospitals), as well as for orthopedic patients. The specialty providers act as consultants for these admissions.  They perform treadmill oversight for some inpatient cardiac admissions and they attend cardiopulmonary rehab patients and a few skilled nursing facility patients as well.

They do not have on-site access to nephrology, , neurosurgery, cardiothoracic surgery or interventional radiology. They do have urology, podiatry, general surgery, orthopedic surgery, and general cardiology services and are adding a pulmonologist to the services available on-site.

This city of about 30,000 is nestled in the heart the Palouse, a fertile and scenic agricultural region in Eastern Washington State.   Located about 75 miles south of Spokane, Washington, and 30 miles north of Lewiston, Idaho, this city has a regional airport and easy access to larger communities and shopping.
