Job Description

The Divisions of Adolescent Medicine & Psychology at (Login for Information) Children's Hospital in Orlando, Florida , is currently seeking a full-time Adolescent Psychologist with expertise in the management of mood disorders, particularly anxiety and depression in the context of marginalized identities such as gender dysphoria, eating disorders, adverse childhood experiences, and limited social determinants of health.

This full-time Adolescent Psychologist would be the primary psychologist in our busy Adolescent Medicine Clinic. The multidisciplinary team comprises a board-certified adolescent medicine physician, advanced practice provider, licensed clinical social worker, and nursing staff. The Division of Adolescent Medicine provides the full range of adolescent medical care, including contraception, LARC, reproductive health, gynecological concerns, gender-affirming care, and medical stabilization of eating disorders in both high-risk and medically complex adolescents. Our division collaborates with other divisions within the hospital to provide adolescent-centered care for young people living with chronic illnesses. This psychologist will have the collegial support of a Division of Psychology comprised of 5 pediatric psychologists, 2 psychiatrists, 2 Licensed Clinical Therapists, and 2 Psychology Postdoctoral Fellows. We are currently in the process of hiring a Neuropsychologist

Requirements:

  • A Ph.D. or Psy.D. from an APA or CPA-accredited clinical psychology program
  • APA or CPA-accredited internship training
  • Postdoctoral training in pediatric or adolescent psychology
  • Experience treating adolescents
  • Currently eligible for licensure in FL

About the position:

This is a full-time position; 0.8 FTE clinical, 0.2 FTE program development, education, or research.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with adolescent patients as a part of a multidisciplinary team. Additional expertise in supporting young people with gender dysphoria, eating disorders, and the polycystic ovarian syndrome is necessary. Knowledge of therapeutic modalities of DBT, ACT and EFT would be welcomed but not required. Although this position is primarily clinical, opportunities for program development and research are available and encouraged. The position will involve various activities including, but not limited to, interdisciplinary evaluations, inpatient consultation-liaison, outpatient therapy, case conference, and collaboration with schools and health care providers. This job is also a part of opportunities to engage in the supervision and training of pediatric psychology postdoctoral fellows, psychology externs, psychiatry residents, and pediatrics residents and fellows. Mentorship will be available in pediatric psychology, supervision, and career development. Academic appointment through the University of Central Florida is commiserated with experience and is strongly encouraged and supported
