Responsibilities of a Physician include conducting comprehensive physical exams to identify and treat a wide range of health issues, referring patients to specialists or counseling services as necessary, and prescribing medications tailored to each patient's specific conditions.
Key competencies required include clear communication skills for effective interaction with both colleagues and patients, adaptability to engage with diverse individuals across different age groups, cultural backgrounds, and personalities. The role demands strong collaborative abilities to contribute innovative solutions and motivate both the staff and management, alongside excellent time management capabilities to handle a significant patient load. Job Functions:
- Initiate patient care by assessing their medical history.
- Prescribe diagnostic tests such as radiology and laboratory tests, and coordinate with specialists as needed.
- Evaluate diagnostic reports, clinical data, and test outcomes to make informed diagnostic decisions, and discuss potential treatment paths.
- Ensure patients are fully informed about their treatment plans and medications, including potential side effects, verifying allergy information before proceeding with prescriptions.
- Recommend modifications in patients' lifestyle and dietary habits to aid in the improvement of their health conditions.
- Adhere to all organizational guidelines and protocols.
- Remain abreast of advancements in medical treatments, procedures, and medications, ensuring the highest standard of care.
- Uphold patient privacy in accordance with HIPAA and other applicable legislation, maintaining strict confidentiality regarding patient information.
