Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Physician Position located in suburban Atlanta

Position is located 30 miles from Atlanta in a friendly, progressive community committed to maintaining a high-quality of life for its approximately 19,000+ residents. Excellent opportunity to join an out-patient Internal Medicine Primary Care private healthcare facility located in the suburbs of Atlanta with the highest ranked schools in the state of Georgia. Work schedule is Monday – Friday, 4.5 workdays/ week (off on weekends and major holidays). Mostly middle aged privately insurance patients.

Potential income: 350k plus benefits. Call is exceptionally light.

JOB DESCRIPTION & PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

We specialize in out-patient Internal Medicine Primary Care and Family Medicine / Family Practice

• Preventive Care: We focus on prevention and recommend annual preventive visits to all our patients.
• Chronic and Acute Care. We treat most common chronic and acute medical conditions for patients 18 years and older (we do not prescribe chronic narcotics, tranquilizers, sleeping aids and attention deficit medications, psychotropic medications, if necessary, a referral to a specialist will be recommended to the patient)
• physicians expected to be knowledgeable with E/M coding guidelines and are responsible for all his / her medical coding
• Scheduling:
  • Workdays: Monday – Friday (4.5 workdays/ week), can be arranged differently if needed
  • Weekends: closed
  • Major Holidays: closed
  • Patient’s schedule: Two (2) new patients / hour or Three (3) established (physician can arrange their own schedule)
• Call: exceptionally light, phone calls only
• Patients age & insurance: mostly middle aged privately insured

ANCILLARY SERVICES AND SUPPORT TEAM:

• Ancillary / Support staff: support teams include receptionists, schedulers, medical assistants, nurses, medical billing service and in-house billers, administrative and medical support staff
• In office diagnostic testing: phlebotomy, electrocardiogram, spirometry, cardiovascular ultrasound, general ultrasound, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, home sleep studies, bone density (DEXA) scan.
• Electronic Medical Records: E-eClinicalWorks (we utilize electronic messaging and patient portal) & Dragon transcription
• Subspeciality physicians: we work with an excellent group of subspecialists in the area on referral basis
• Nearby Hospitals: Emory Johns Creek & St. Josephs hospitals, Northside hospitals (Duluth, Cumming, Lawrenceville), Northeast Georgia Medical Center

BOARD CERTIFICATIONS:

• Experienced: Board certification required
• New Graduate: Board eligible but must complete and pass boards prior to start date

EDUCATION:

• Candidate must have attended highly rated medical school and residency program

EXPERIENCE:

• Two (2) years in primary care (preferred) but not required

• COMPENSATION:
  • Base Salary: $220 - $250k depending on experience PLUS
  • Productivity Bonus: based on total collections
  • TOTAL INCOME: Potential income > $350k after second year
