Job Description
Children’s hospital in the Philadelphia area has an opening for a Chief of Department of Pediatric Emergency. The Department of Emergency Medicine is a 34-bed unit with approximately 50,000 visits annually. The hospital is a regional integrated healthcare system that offers compassionate, high-quality, leading-edge healthcare and wellness services to communities in Berks, Chester, Montgomery, and Philadelphia Counties.
With more than 220 pediatric experts on staff, the hospital combines topnotch pediatric care with a wide array of pediatric specialties, including Cardiology; Ear, Nose and Throat; Gastroenterology; Oncology; and Orthopedics. It houses the only Pediatric Burn Center between New York City and Baltimore and is one of only three Level I Pediatric Trauma Centers in Pennsylvania. The hospital is a Magnet® designated hospital and has been recognized as a Women’s Choice Award Best Children’s Hospital.
Position
The position of Chief will manage a high functioning team that accounts for over 70% of admissions and is the lifeblood of the hospital.
There is a well-established PEM fellowship with 3 fellows per year (the fellowship had a 100% fill rate again this year) with an outstanding Program Director and many engaged core faculty.
