Rheumatology Single Specialty Group job located in California

"Solo senior rheumatologist with a mature practice located with close access to San Francisco offering a large, highly successful, exquisitely set-up, in-office infusion center is looking for an experienced rheumatologist/ equity partners to join in and take over the practice for immediate seven-figure income in a very desirable part of Northern California

Located 1 hour from San Francisco, 30 minutes from San Jose, 50 minutes from Monterey

Well-established,  Board-certified Rheumatologist with extensive experience running a successful private practice since 1992 is seeking a Board-Certified Rheumatologist due to expansion of services (currently three busy physicians) as a result of growing market needs. Other interests include clinical research, patient advocacy, mentoring plus operating a very successful In-Office Infusion Suite for 19 years.  There are constant calls to open up satellite offices in Monterey and/ or in Los Gatos.   Decision, therefore, will need to be made in conjunction with someone (who could use our resources and expertise and guidance ) but would have the entrepreneurial spirit to be a key player at either one of these locations. 

The practice in Santa Cruz comprises a team of well-trained infusion nurses, electronic health-record specialist, office manager, billing expert and knowledgeable biologic specialists for pre-authorizations. This is 100 percent referral only practice and over 95 % of the patients in this practice have a Primary Rheumatic Diagnosis. This practice provides comprehensive on-site patient-care services with the assistance of two Advanced Practice Providers ( APP). An extensive network of consultants are available, which allows for active engagement and gratifying teamwork. Proximity to academic centers such as UCSF and Stanford, complemented by locally-organized academic conferences, provide ample opportunities for continued medical education and stimulating intellectual engagement.

Employment opportunities could include working as an independent contractor or the possibility to work towards a partnership/practice takeover; There is also the possibility of working as a locum for one to two years with the intention of joining the practice if so desired. The practice structure provides the luxury of working decent hours with excellent EHR support and other ancillary support that frees the physician to do what the physician does best ... which is take care of patients. After-hour responsibilities are minimal as well, with weekend call every five weeks coupled with minimal in-hospital work, and hence one may anticipate excellent work-life balance. Currently there are three other practicing rheumatologists in the area all of whom belong to an extremely large medical conglomerate of Northern CA.
