Exciting Career Opportunity: Breast Surgeon
Division of Elective General Surgery
McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston

Are you a passionate, fellowship-trained Breast Surgeon looking to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment? The Department of Surgery at McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) invites you to join a growing team dedicated to innovation, collaboration, and compassionate care.

We are actively recruiting board-certified or board-eligible Breast Surgeons at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level. This is a remarkable opportunity to practice at the forefront of breast surgery—covering the full spectrum of benign and malignant conditions—without general surgery call responsibilities.

What We Offer:

  • A highly supportive and collegial surgical team with six full-time breast surgeons
  • Diverse clinical settings across the prestigious Memorial Hermann Health System
  • No general surgery call—enabling a strong focus on breast health
  • A robust inter-disciplinary team: medical and radiation oncologists, dedicated breast imaging physicians, nurse navigators, social workers, dietitians, chaplains, physical therapists, and a comprehensive Survivorship Program
  • Access to 1500+ new breast cancer cases annually, within a system accredited by the Commission on Cancer and the American College of Radiology
  • Opportunities to engage in cutting-edge research and contribute to the education of medical trainees
  • A physician-led Oncology ACO that fosters innovation and personalized care
  • NAPBC accredited site
  • Excellent benefits
    • ORP employer match is 8.5%, employee deferral is 6.65%
    • UT employees are dual employed. They are considered both University of Texas employees and State of Texas employees, providing them both the voluntary 403b and 457 plans.
    • UT allows both pretax and ROTH options for the voluntary plans
  • Why Houston?
As the fourth largest city in the U.S., Houston is a vibrant and diverse cultural hub with world-class arts, dining, and entertainment. It’s also home to the Texas Medical Center—the largest medical center in the world—offering unparalleled opportunities for research and collaboration.
