Bariatric Surgeon Needed In Southern Illinois!!

Hospital (47 beds), located in Southern IL, is seeking Board Eligible/Board Certified Bariatric Surgeon to join a hospital-owned clinic. Experienced and new grads are encouraged to apply.

Practice Details:
-Hospital has started a Weight Loss and Metabolics Disorders program to assist patients in Southern Illinois.This new program will achieve multiple centers of excellence status designations and will be a leader in bariatric and metabolic disease.
-Program is headed by a General Surgeon with fellowship training in minumally invasive surgery and bariatrics.
-Initially there will be more general surgery than bariatrics, but the ratio will change as the program matures
-Call will be 1:2 with both providers sharing general surgery and bariatric call.  Overall call volume is low as hospitalist take admissions and consult physicians during working hours.
-The surgical and non-surgical weight loss program has a branded identity with  a bariatric coordinator, dietician, nurse practitioner, and endocrinologist as part of the program.

Candidate Qualifications:
-American Board Eligible/Certified
-Experience in bariatric or metabolic disease
-Robotics trained preferred
-Interested individuals should be able to perform the full breadth of general surgery including EGDÂ?s and colonoscopies.
-Ideal candidates will want to "dig in" and help grow the field of bariatric medicine while still focusing on the area of general surgery.
-Clean record and excellent references
-Excellent communication, bedside manner, and organizational skills
-A strong work ethic and desire to participate in a team-oriented, performance-driven Health System
