Job Description
Medical Center is seeking Locum BC Interventional Cardiologists to join a coverage pool
-- Open dates: December 18, 7am through January 1, 5pm
-- Staffed on-site Monday-Friday 7am–5pm
-- Weekday evening call Monday-Friday 5pm–7am
-- Weekend call Saturday 7am-Monday 7am
-- STEMI call aligned with unassigned call and noninvasive coverage
-- 159 STEMI activations in 2025 with 47% cancellation rate; providers receive more phone calls than call backs; emergent call backs approximately every other day
-- More than 2 inpatient admissions per physician per day; potential for some rounding responsibility
-- Other interventional cardiologists present during locum coverage; no supervision of other providers required
-- Adult and geriatric patients
-- Required procedures include balloon angioplasty, coronary angioplasty, PCI, heart catheterization, coronary angiograms, medical management of vascular disease, embolic protection, carotid artery stenting, and atherectomy
-- EMR: Epic
-- Active Virginia license, BLS, ACLS, and Clean malpractice required
