- Call only coverage -- 6 am - 6 am shift format
- 4 - 7 patient encounters per shift; 5 - 10 admissions
- Inpatient electrophysiology setting
- Average 6 - 8 patients seen; 6 - 8 average phone consults
- Pacemakers, ICDs, ablations, and inpatient EP required
- Call ratio: 1:4 -- 30-minute call response time required
- Rounding: both
- Paid malpractice insurance; pre-paid travel and housing expenses
