Job Description

  • Director - Primary care role will develop, implement, evaluate and direct the primary care services, allergy, immunization, and travel medicine in accordance with the department goals. This position shares in the administrative functions that directly impact medical services and collaborates with the management team in overall planning and administration. In the absence of the Senior Director, this position assumes leadership responsibilities for all medical areas

Director - Primary care role will develop, implement, evaluate and direct the primary care services, allergy, immunization, and travel medicine in accordance with the department goals. This position shares in the administrative functions that directly impact medical services and collaborates with the management team in overall planning and administration. In the absence of the Senior Director, this position assumes leadership responsibilities for all medical areas.

Job Duty 1 - 
Develop, implement, evaluate, and direct Primary Care services. This includes monitoring effectiveness of care provided and ensuring compliance with regulations and standards established by local, state, and federal agencies and by the accreditation body for the health center. Responsible for implementation and monitoring of a Point-of-Care ultrasound program.

Job Duty 2 - 
Provide medical direction for the provision of care regarding travel, immunizations, and allergies; to ensure care is consistent with current guidelines for Travel Medicine and the administration of vaccines and allergy injections.

Job Duty 3 - 
Development, organize, and implement training for clinical staff to ensure care rendered is consistent with current guidelines and best practices.

Job Duty 4 - 
Implement quality assurance and quality improvement efforts through data gathering, data analysis, solution identification and solution implementation.

Job Duty 5 - 
Work with senior leadership to lead maintenance of accreditation through Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC).

Job Duty 6 - 
Supervise clinicians, including physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants, including regular performance evaluation, scheduling, and recruitment/hiring of new personnel. Provide oversight and education to students seeking learning opportunities in a medical setting, including undergraduate GT students and professional students from other institutions.

Job Duty 7 - 
Provide direct patient care, including conducting patient examinations and diagnosing illness, providing timely treatments and referrals and providing direct supervision/consultation/advice to midlevel providers (nurse practitioners and physician assistants).

Job Duty 8 - 
Assume leadership responsibilities for all medical areas in the absence of the Senior Director.

Job Duty 9 - 
Maintain medical licensure and board certification through Continuing Medical Education activities.

Job Duty 10 - 
Perform other job-related duties as assigned

 

Educational Requirements
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy or equivalent combination education and experience

Other Required Qualifications
Required Certifications, Licenses or Permits:
o Basic Life Support certification (BLS)
o Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.)
o Board Certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine or Pediatrics

Required Experience
Five to seven years of job-related experience
