Position Overview

(Login for Information), an independent, community-based hospital, is seeking a board-certified Family Medicine physician (MD or DO) to join our Family Medicine Residency Program as Core Faculty.

This is an excellent opportunity for a physician passionate about teaching, mentorship, and community-based medicine to combine clinical practice with resident education in a supportive, mission-driven environment.

As Core Faculty, you'll help train the next generation of physicians who will serve rural and underserved populations-while maintaining your own outpatient continuity clinic at Sampson Medical Group, our hospital-owned practice.

Schedule & Workload

  • Preceptorship/Teaching: ~70%
  • Clinical Practice: ~30% (outpatient clinic)
  • Hospital/Back-Up Rotation: 1-2 weeks every 6-8 weeks (Family Medicine inpatient service, including peds/newborn)
  • Daily Outpatient Volume: 20-25 patients

Candidate Qualifications

  • Board-certified in Family Medicine (MD or DO)
  • Experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings
  • Comfortable performing joint injections, dermatologic procedures, and OMT
  • Interest in medical education and mentoring residents
  • Obstetrics experience welcomed but not required
  • Passion for rural and community-based medicine

Located in Clinton, NC, (Login for Information) has served its community since 1950 and is now one of only a handful of independent, community-based hospitals remaining in North Carolina. The healthcare facility serves as an academic training center for medical students, interns, and residents.
