Gastroenterology Physician Locums Job in Arizona | 24 Hour Call | Beginning November 2 - Ongoing | Assignment #117321
Coverage Details
-- November 2, 2026 - January 3, 2027
-- Ongoing dates TBD
-- Two providers needed
-- Credentialing timeframe: 60-90 days after receiving completed application with clean file
Shift Details
-- 24 hour call, 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM
-- Scheduled outpatient procedures from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM while on call
-- 6-14 call days per month
-- Coverage is ongoing until an internal physician is found
Requirements
-- Board Certification Gastroenterology
-- Active Arizona license or IMLC
-- Residency / Fellowship in Gastroenterology
-- Clean malpractice and background history
-- Active ACLS, DEA - Highly Preferred
-- Local candidate - Highly Preferred, but not required
Required Procedures / Skills
-- Colonoscopy
-- EGD
-- ERCP, EUS - Highly Preferred
Assignment Details
-- Setting: Outpatient procedures with the potential of clinic down the road
-- Support Staff: MA
-- While on 24-hour call, provider is responsible for inpatient rounding and GI consults in addition to scheduled outpatient procedures from 8a-4p
-- On a busy day, there would be 3-4 consults with the inpatient census averaging the same
-- Any necessary procedures can typically be absorbed into the scheduled outpatient procedure block
-- 1 provider covers call and rounding during the day
-- After-hours callbacks and procedures vary, but aren't frequent; can be up to 3-4 on average
-- APPs are not available for inpatient coverage; current team of APPs handles clinic follow-up care
-- Outpatient procedures for this need are seen by the NPs in the clinic
