- Ongoing assignment -- outpatient and inpatient practice setting
- 12 patients per shift
- Call: 1/8 ratio -- 30-minute response time, beeper call
- Call volume: 8 - 12 patients seen per 24-hour period
- Upper and lower GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, and liver biopsy required
- PEG, esophageal dilatation, banding, and push enteroscopy required
- Sengstaken/Blakemore tube insertion and management required
- Hospital privileges required
- Paid malpractice insurance; pre-paid travel and housing expenses
