Coverage Details
-- January 1, 2027 – Ongoing
-- Three weekends per month preferred, beginning Friday 5pm through Monday 7am
-- Temporary privileges available
Shift Details
-- 24-hour beeper call
-- Call response time: 30 minutes
Requirements
-- Board Certified in Gastroenterology
-- Board certification must be in Gastroenterology specialty
-- Texas license or IMLC
-- BLS, ACLS, PALS
Required Procedures / Skills
-- Upper GI endoscopy (with biopsy, foreign body removal, fulguration of bleeder - cautery vs. laser)
-- Small bowel biopsy
-- Lower GI endoscopy
-- Sigmoidoscopy
-- Flexible and rigid endoscopy
-- Colonoscopy (with biopsy and excision of polyp)
Assignment Details
-- Inpatient setting
-- EMR: Epic
-- Duties include admissions and rounding
-- Hospital stroke certified
-- Patients seen: 2
-- Phone consults: 5
-- Admissions: 1
-- Facility Trauma Level: 4
