Clinicians on assignment may also engage with local culture through live music, markets, and community events held throughout the year.

About the Clinician's Workday

Clinicians will provide inpatient hospitalist coverage during 12-hour day shifts (6:00 AM - 6:00 PM) and night shifts (6:00 PM - 6:00 AM) on an on-site basis at a hospital in Alaska. The patient census ranges from 90-95, with individual clinician patient loads of 18-22 patients per shift, consisting of adult inpatient medical conditions; the ICU is a closed unit managed by an on-staff intensivist, and no procedures are required of the hospitalist. Documentation is conducted using EPIC EMR, and clinicians must be willing to work 7 consecutive shifts, preferably 2 weeks per month. Board certification in ABIM or Family Medicine and prescriptive authority are required for this locum tenens assignment.
