Job Description

A large, academically affiliated tertiary care medical center northwest of Boston, Massachusetts, is seeking a part-time Nocturnist to join its growing Division of Hospital Medicine. This is a teaching-focused, collaborative inpatient environment with strong support for clinical excellence and professional development.Position Highlights: Part-time Nocturnist role (20hrs) with a 7 on / 7 off block schedule for predictable work-life balance. Team of 75+ physicians and nearly 30 APPs providing care for a diverse, medically complex inpatient population. No code responsibilities; ICU team manages codes. Lead Rapid Response calls alongside residents. Overnight admissions primarily managed by residents, with 4and#8211;6 admissions staffed by the nocturnist, who also provides inpatient care and supervises APPs for admissions and cross-coverage. Active teaching environment for residents, medical students, and visiting international trainees within a multidisciplinary inpatient model that includes structured rounding, co-management services, and trainee onboarding. Collegial, supportive division that values collaboration and provider contributions. Candidate Qualifications: MD or DO with completion of Internal Medicine or Family Medicine residency Strong academic preparation with commitment to high-quality inpatient care Professional, dependable, and team-oriented approach to patient care in a fast-paced hospital setting Compensation/Benefits: Pay Range: $120k - $158k Highly competitive salary, sign on bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package Retention Incentive: After 1 year: 1 shift reduction per month for 1.0 FTE (or equivalent) After 3 years: Additional shift reduction for 1.0 FTE (or equivalent) Reimbursement provided for interview related expenses and relocation support Assistance with licensing, credentialing and on-boarding related matters The Community: Living in this vibrant suburban town offers a perfect balance of peaceful residential life and easy access to major metropolitan areas.
