Job Description
Under the direction of the CEO and SVP of Operations, the Regional Medical Director provides leadership and is responsible for all Kinship PACE medical services at the assigned regional and local level, including planning, development, implementation, and ongoing delivery of participant care and clinical outcomes for the assigned region. Acts as a Primary Care Provider at the assigned PACE Center. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Advise and inform CEO and SVP of Operations on Kinship PACE medical care development and operations at the regional and local levels. • Works with the assigned Quality Specialist on local and regional quality assessment and performance improvement programs (QAPI) and reports to Kinship Health Corporate Medical Director on all clinical matters. • Attends local and regional QAPI meetings. • Serves on Kinship PACE’s regional management team • Works with the Regional Program Director in negotiating contract agreements with medical specialty and long-term health care providers following policies and procedures and contact practices. • Establishes an array of medical service delivery contacts to complete the service network and set up the quality assessment and performance improvement infrastructure. Maintains positive relationships with network providers. • • Provides consultation to the clinic nurse manager, home care coordinator, and other clinical staff, holding regular meetings to discuss participant care and clinic operations • • Participates in the continuing education and training of all regional Kinship PACE staff • Confer with Regional Program Director on standards for interdisciplinary team care, participant and caregiver satisfaction, quality, protocols, grievances and appeals, enrollment and disenrollment, infection and exposure control, emergency preparedness, data and medical records management, service access, and overall program performance • Assists in the development of Kinship Health policy and procedures on medical care, in collaboration with corporate staff. • Works with the Regional Program Director to develop plans and committee oversight for medical care, utilization review, and ethics so that all Kinship PACE quality, medical, and program standards are met. • Acts as Chair of the Quality Subcommittee to oversee and implement quality initiatives to ensure quality of clinical care, patient safety, and participant satisfaction. • Intervenes immediately when conditions exist that pose an immediate threat to participants, physicians, staff, contractors, visitors, and others. • Understands fiscal issues and is appropriately involved in meeting budget targets. • Consistently meets or exceeds Kinship Health targets for productivity and customer service. • Continually seeks better ways for delivering services and communicating with participants. • Demonstrates respect for and promotes participant rights including dignity, self- determination, access to care, confidentiality, and independence. • Understands the importance of community involvement and participates as appropriate in activities that link Kinship PACE to its communities • Effectively collaborates with staff peers and contractors to meet Kinship Health goals and to further success. • Demonstrates proficiency in delivering age-specific care. • Attends and participates in staff meetings, in-services, projects, and committees as assigned. • Collaborate with clinical and operations leadership to address network adequacy, service gaps, and participant experience. • Work closely with medical, operations, finance, and compliance teams to ensure strategic alignment and execution. • Support regulatory readiness and adherence to CMS and state requirements related to PACE operations and contracting. • Represent the organization in industry forums, regulatory discussions, and strategic initiatives. • May require use of personal vehicle. • Other duties as assigned. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED • Graduate of an accredited school of medicine; Board certified in internal medicine or family practice. Board certification granted by the American Boards of Internal Medicine and Family Practice for Added Qualification in Geriatric Medicine • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in caring for seniors. • Licensed by the State Medicine Board to practice medicine • Medically cleared for communicable diseases and has all immunizations up to date before engaging in direct participant contact. TB screening and successful completion of a health examination by a hospital-designated nurse practitioner or physicians is required for employment • CPR certification. • Minimum of 5-10 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare strategy, network development, managed care, or PACE/senior care services. • Proven track record of strategic leadership, program expansion, and provider relations in a complex healthcare environment. • Strong understanding of value-based care models, risk-based contracting, and regulatory compliance within Medicare/Medicaid frameworks. • Excellent communication and presentation skills with diverse audiences. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills written and oral; demonstrated ability to influence outcomes and work effectively with all organizational levels • Deep commitment to serving older adults and vulnerable populations. • Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office • Willing to travel as needed. PREFERRED • Minimum of two (2) years of documented experience working with a frail or elderly population in a long-term care setting preferred • Medicine Directors Certification preferred
