Job Description

Position Summary:

Empower U Community Health Center is seeking a compassionate, patient-focused, and highly qualified Physician/ Family Medicine to provide comprehensive primary care services to patients across the lifespan. The Physician will diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses, promote preventative healthcare, coordinate patient care, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure the highest quality of care.

 

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, exceptional communication skills, a commitment to patient-centered care, and the ability to support organizational initiatives related to quality improvement, patient safety, regulatory compliance, and infection prevention.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide comprehensive primary care services, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs. Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests and laboratory results. Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with accepted medical standards and applicable regulations. Maintain accurate, complete, and timely electronic medical records. Educate patients and their families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, disease prevention, and health maintenance. Collaborate with nurses, medical assistants, behavioral health providers, case managers, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care. Participate in quality improvement and performance improvement initiatives. Support compliance with HRSA, Joint Commission, Ryan White, OSHA, CDC, ECRI, federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. Assist with clinical protocols, policies, and evidence-based practices. Support infection prevention and infection control activities throughout the organization. Participate in provider meetings, staff meetings, quality reviews, audits, and accreditation activities. Maintain productivity, quality, and documentation standards established by the organization. Serve as a clinical resource and contribute to organizational excellence and continuous improvement. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education:

Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution.

 

Licensure and Certifications:

Active Florida Medical License in good standing. Current DEA Registration. Current BLS Certification. Current CPR Certification. HIV Certification through the American Academy of HIV Medicine (AAHIVM) preferred. Candidates without HIV Certification must be willing and able to obtain certification within a specified period following hire.

Experience:

Minimum three (3) years of clinical experience preferred. Experience working within a Community Health Center, Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), or similar ambulatory care setting preferred. Experience caring for patients living with HIV/AIDS preferred. Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems required . Leadership, supervisory, or medical management experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of evidence-based medical practices and standards of care. Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills. Knowledge of infection prevention and control practices. Knowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards. Ability to provide culturally competent and patient-centered care. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong organizational and time management skills. Commitment to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives. Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.
