Neonatology Position - Eastern Pennsylvania - 90 minutes from Philadelphia
Job Description
Medical Center is seeking a BC Neonatologist to join team
- Shifts are 24 hours and work period 10-11 days each month.
- Work 1/3 of the year (shifts are split amongst 3 neonatologists), currently doing 10 days straight but there can be flexibility with this.
- There is NNP coverage for most nights (1 FT NNP + PRNs, with an open position for a 2nd FT)
- Daytime coverage with on-call from home; APPs cover in-house 7pm–7am as first call with physician backup as needed
- Call is 1:3, need to be within 15 mins of hospital
- Join a division of 3 Neonatologists and 2 APPs providing 24/7 NICU coverage
- Level II NICU
- In 6 bed NICU, average 3-4 babies daily
- 2 nurses per shift
- Facilitate rounds including vent weaning, nutrition adjustments, lab reviews, and family meetings
- Full complement of ancillary staff with excellent administrative support
- Example of day-to-day schedule: Attending Huddle meeting at 09:30 daily, no Sat/Sunday, Rounding at 10:00 daily, exam babies daily/write progress notes, consults and admissions/Discharges. Be a captain resuscitator and talk to parents, consultants. Attend C-section with NICU nurse and respiratory therapist whenever OB requested.
