Neurologist Opportunity – Residents & Board-Certified Physicians | Long-Term Contract

  • (Salary 300k+ annually)

General Summary

(Login for Information) is seeking a Board-Certified Neurologist to provide specialized neurological care to medically complex patients in a Long-Term Acute Care Hospital (LTACH) setting. The Neurologist will evaluate, diagnose, and manage neurological conditions while collaborating with RML’s multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage neurological conditions involving the brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves, and neuromuscular system.
  • Provide neurological consultations and ongoing management for medically complex LTACH patients.
  • Develop and adjust individualized diagnostic and treatment plans based on clinical findings.
  • Order, review, and interpret appropriate laboratory, neurological, and imaging studies.
  • Monitor patients’ neurological status and provide recommendations for medications, therapies, and follow-up care.
  • Collaborate with hospitalists, intensivists, rehabilitation professionals, nursing, therapy, and other specialists.
  • Communicate diagnoses, treatment recommendations, and prognosis effectively with patients and families.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and support continuity of care throughout the patient’s stay.
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation in the electronic medical record.
  • Practice in accordance with hospital policies, professional standards, and regulatory requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree.
  • Completion of an accredited Neurology residency program.
  • Board certification in Neurology.
  • Current and unrestricted Illinois medical license, or eligibility to obtain one.
  • Current DEA registration, as applicable.
  • Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, decision-making, communication, and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in LTACH, acute care, critical care, rehabilitation, or another medically complex care setting.
  • Knowledge of EEG procedures.
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR).
  • Additional training or subspecialty expertise in areas such as stroke, epilepsy, movement disorders, neuromuscular disease, or neurodegenerative disorders.

Compensation: Pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to job-specific requirements, individual experience, internal pay equity, and organizational needs/budget considerations, all in alignment with our RML's compensation philosophy. Additionally, you may be eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program based on both individual and organizational performance.
