Position Summary
(Login for Information)is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our Emergency Department team at Red Lake Hospital in beautiful northern Minnesota. This unique opportunity allows you to practice independently in a collaborative Emergency Department environment while focusing exclusively on Fast Track (ESI Level 4 & 5) patients.
Working alongside our board-certified Emergency Physicians and Advanced Practice Clinicians, you will provide high-quality care for low-acuity patients, helping improve patient flow while delivering exceptional care to the Red Lake Nation community.

Schedule - 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM or 12:00PMpm – 9:00PM
Fast Track role which averages 1-2 patient per hour
Flexible contract scheduling
Full-time and ongoing contract opportunity
Responsibilities
· Evaluate, diagnose, treat low-acuity Emergency Department patients (ESI Level 4 & 5)
· Perform focused histories and physical examinations
· Order and interpret laboratory studies and diagnostic imaging
· Perform minor office and emergency procedures within scope of practice
· Develop treatment plans and provide patient education
· Prescribe medications as appropriate
· Determine patient disposition including discharge or escalation to Emergency Physician
· Collaborate closely with Emergency Medicine physicians, nursing staff, and ancillary departments
Volume: 14,000 // 38 per day
Shifts: 24 Hour ABEM/ABOEM Coverage per day
Hospital: Red Lake is a Critical Access Hospital with 8 beds
• Inpatient unit takes low level/acuity admissions, social admits
• There is lab and Xray but no CT or US
• Patients requiring additional diagnostic imaging are transferred to Bemidji
• Most OB patients are transferred to Bemidji but can have an occasional spontaneous, precipitous
delivery. Average 6 per year
Qualifications
· Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license (or ability to obtain Minnesota licensure)
· DEA Registration
· Current BLS Certification
· Current ACLS Certification
· Minimum 2 years of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner
· Preferred
o Emergency Medicine experience
o Urgent Care experience
o Rural Health experience
