Shift Details
-- 24-hour call coverage with approximately 10-12 hours onsite
-- Combined ED-Hospitalist position

Requirements
-- Board Certified Emergency Medicine
-- Minnesota license
-- BLS, ACLS, ATLS, PALS 
-- DEA certification
-- Clean malpractice/background for credentialing
-- Highly Preferred: Local provider

Required Procedures / Skills
-- Evaluate patients across the age spectrum in the Emergency Department
-- Consult on patient care with hospitalist through telemedicine as needed
-- Admit patients to acute care, observation, and swing bed status patients
-- Initiate transfers and perform physician-to-physician transfer conversations
-- Round on, discharge, and transfer inpatients and observation patients when Medical Director is unavailable
-- Provide handoff to oncoming provider on ED and acute care patients

Assignment Details
-- Average number of patients per day: 6-8
-- Average number of swing bed patients: 6
-- Average admissions per day: 1-2
-- 95% adult patients, 4% pediatric patients
-- Facility Trauma Level: No trauma level (Critical Access Hospital)
-- Telemedicine hospitalist support available through Avera
-- Combined Emergency Department and Hospitalist coverage
-- Provider can expect approximately 10-12 hours onsite daily with unrestricted call during remaining hours
