Hematology/Oncology Position - Buffalo, NY area

Medical Center is seeking a BC/BE Hematology/Oncology Physician to join our established team
- Hospital-based outpatient clinic with inpatient hematology/oncology consults
- APPs take call for inpatient M-F 8am-4pm for solid tumor & Oncology
- MDs take call on a 7 day rotating basis for coverage of oncology from 4pm to 8am
- MDs are on call 24 hours for hematology
- Prescribe and administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapies, and other treatment modalities in accordance with current guidelines.
- Conduct bone marrow biopsies, lumbar procedures, and other diagnostic procedures as necessary.
- Provide supportive care including pain management, symptom control, and a psychosocial support.
- Patient load: Each provider sees 15-20 patients a day but is assigned an APP, so it's really about 10 a day for the MD.
- It's a mix of 50/50 for Hem/Onc patients
- Physician Staffing: The department has 4 MDs budgeted with collaboration closely with a multidisciplinary team, including surgical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists, radiologists, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in tumor board meetings to discuss complex cases in treatment plans.
- Supervision of chemotherapy suite
- Partnership with ancillary service lines including Head and Neck, Oral Oncology, Breast Oncology, Thoracic Oncology, UroOncology, Supportive/Palliative Care, and Interventional Pain Management
- Academic opportunities available: engage in clinical research, stay current with emerging treatments, technologies, and scientific advancements in the field.
- Present research findings at conferences and contribute to peer reviewed publications.
- Participate in departmental meetings, quality improvement initiatives, Commission on cancer and other administrative activities.
- Salary range $525,000 to $580,000
