This facility operates as a Level II Trauma Center and maintains established clinical protocols to support ophthalmology coverage across inpatient and emergency department settings. The facility provides burns and trauma services and is structured to deliver coordinated care on a 24/7 call basis. On-site support staffing, including Trauma Nurses, Burn Nurses, and Trauma M.D.'s, is in place to facilitate continuity of care throughout each assigned coverage period.

Augusta, Georgia offers a range of cultural and outdoor attractions suited to varied interests. The Augusta Riverwalk along the Savannah River, the Augusta Canal National Heritage Area, and several museums - including the Augusta Museum of History and the Morris Museum of Art - provide options for cultural exploration. Clinicians on assignment may also enjoy water activities on the Savannah River, walking trails, local cuisine, craft beverages at area restaurants and breweries, and the area's noted golf heritage, with the Masters Tournament drawing significant interest from visitors.

The ophthalmologist will provide 24-hour call coverage for inpatient and emergency department ophthalmology services, including trauma and burn injury evaluation and ophthalmic evaluation and treatment (non-surgical). Coverage is structured on a 24/7 basis to support ED and inpatient call, including burns and trauma. This assignment is intended to cover vacation periods from December 15, 2026 (7:00 AM) through January 7, 2027 (7:00 AM) at a Level II Trauma Center. Support staff includes Trauma Nurses, Burn Nurses, and Trauma M.D.'s to facilitate coordinated clinical operations throughout each coverage period.
