Job Description

  • Cornea & External Disease

The Department of Ophthalmology, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is accepting applications for a full-time, fixed-term faculty position in Cornea and External Disease. Responsibilities include patient surgical and medical care of cornea/external diseases, providing high quality resident and medical student training, and participation in clinical and/or basic research. Academic rank and salary will be based on experience and credentials. Our department treats patients for a wide range of corneal and external ocular conditions, including complex anterior segment reconstruction, various keratoplasty techniques, corneal implants, and ocular surface surgeries. We offer corneal disease consultative and diagnostic services at UNC Kittner Eye Center in Chapel Hill. 

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

 

  • Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited Ophthalmology residency 
  • Board certification or board eligibility in Ophthalmology 
  • Candidates for this position should have completed a post-residency fellowship training in Cornea & External Disease 
  • Eligibility for medical licensure in the state of North Carolina
