Full-time Pathology Assistant Locums Job in Illinois | Starting late November & Ongoing | 13 Weeks at a Minimum

Illinois facility located just an hour outside of St. Louis needs locums Pathology Assistant coverage beginning in late November 2026 & ongoing for a minimum of 13 weeks. Look forward to a consistent work schedule working alongside of a strong team of Pathologists that work collaboratively to make sure their community gets timely and accurate feedback and diagnoses around the clock.

Coverage need: 
* Seeking full-time (M-F) lab coverage for 13 weeks starting the week of Nov 23rd or 30th (flexible start) & ongoing for a minimum of 13 weeks 
* No nights or weekends required 
* Lab is closed on: November 26 & 27, December 25 & January 1, 2027

Description/Requirements for Assignment #116692:
* Active Illinois Pathology Assistant License and/or willingness to get an Illinois license
* Must be a graduate of a NAACLS-accredited training program & be actively Board Certified by ASCP
* Seeking candidates who are comfortable with surgical specimen grossing, dissection & prosection
* Can anticipate surgical cases not limited to but including: Placentas, Uteri, Breast,Colon
* Will be physically be onsite at 1 lab, however, will also receive specimens from sister facility 10 minutes away
* Facility staff: will work alongside of 2 Pathologists, 1 Pathology Assistant & a full histology lab
* AP/CP Pathology - some non-GYN cytology
* Case volume is 6-8K cases a year; Breaking down to 25 cases/day per Pathologist (splitting 50 cases total/day on average) 
* Will be required to do grossing for most cases (New Mopec Maestro grossstation)
