The Children’s Heart Institute (CHI) is seeking a pediatric cardiologist to join our rapidly expanding team. The CHI team is very diverse and internationally recognized for providing patients with excellent quality cardiac care for children and adults with congenital heart defects. There are 25 cardiologists offering acute care, fetal, cardiac MR/CT, interventional, electrophysiology, heart failure, transplant, pulmonary hypertension, exercise physiology, preventive and community cardiology services along with 3 dedicated congenital heart surgeons. The hospital has a 20-bed dedicated cardiac ICU, 20 intermediate care beds, and a 120-bed NICU. Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital is ranked in the top 20 pediatric cardiology and cardiac surgery programs in the 2025-2026 US News & World Report. The program has a robust general pediatric cardiology fellowship with advanced fellowships in fetal, CT/MRI, and CICU.

Candidates with experience will be preferred although graduating fellows are encouraged to apply. The selected candidate will contribute to the department's mission to educate health science professionals, discover and translate advances in the biomedical and social sciences, and model the best practices in clinical care and public health through research, teaching, clinical service, administrative activities, and other services. Responsibilities: 

  • Actively participate in patient care to ensure the highest quality of care and patient outcomes in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Work with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including nurses, technologists, and support staff
  • Collaborate with other cardiology subspecialties, surgeons, and referring physicians to optimize patient care and outcomes.
  • Teach and mentor fellows/residents/medical students/advanced care practitioners
  • Participate in clinical or basic science research and/or other scholarly activities.

Qualifications:

 

  • Must hold an MD/DO degree, or equivalent
  • Board certified or eligible in Pediatrics, or equivalent
  • Board certified or eligible in Pediatric Cardiology, or equivalent
  • Licensed in the state of Texas Medical License or be eligible for a Texas Faculty Temporary License.
