Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor of Emergency Medicine - Pediatric Emergency Medicine (PEM), Department of Emergency Medicine at the McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston

The Department of Emergency Medicine at the McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth Houston) is seeking board certified/eligible Pediatric Emergency Medicine (PEM) candidates trained in Pediatrics or Emergency Medicine.  This faculty position is responsible for delivery of high-quality medical services to children served by Children’s Memorial Hermann Texas Medical Center (CMHH-TMC).

Located in the Texas Medical Center, McGovern Medical School’s Department of Emergency Medicine is one of the nation’s largest academic EM programs and is affiliated with one of the busiest trauma centers for children and adults in the nation.  The Department has a fully accredited three-year residency program with 63 EM residents and ACGME-accredited fellowship training in Emergency Medical Services and Pediatric Emergency Medicine.

PEM faculty will supervise EM and Pediatric residents, medical and nurse practitioner students, and 4 PEM fellows.  As one of two certified Level I Pediatric trauma centers in the greater Houston area, CMHH-TMC provides 24/7 emergency and trauma care to over 18,000 pediatric patients annually.  With a complete panel of pediatric subspecialty services including   dentistry, oral surgery, and burns, as well as 24/7 access to MRI, psychiatric response, and forensic nursing, CMHH-TMC provides leading-edge care in trauma, neuroscience, orthopedics, cardiology, diagnostic radiology, and much more.  Memorial Hermann Life Flight provides emergency rescue within a 150-mile radius.  CMHH TMC has achieved one of the highest levels of recognition a hospital can receive – Magnet recognition for excellence in nursing services by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s (ANCC) Magnet Recognition Program.
