This inpatient facility provides comprehensive newborn services supported by an RN-staffed unit, in-house neonatologists, and Level 3 NICU capabilities. The hospital maintains established protocols for newborn care and hospitalist coverage, with standard equipment necessary to support quality patient outcomes. Locum tenens coverage is sought to address maternity leave scheduling needs, with PAWS credentialing in place from November 2025 through September 2026. The facility operates with electronic documentation requirements and structured inpatient workflows.

Asheville, North Carolina offers clinicians on assignment access to a range of outdoor and recreational activities. The area features Class II-IV rapids on a manmade whitewater river, flatwater paddling on the Catawba River, and a dedicated whitewater area for children. Over 40 miles of single-track trails support mountain biking, trail running, and hiking, while ziplines reaching up to 1,500 feet, ropes courses across multiple skill levels, bouldering, and top-rope and free-solo climbing are also available. The pediatric hospitalist will provide newborn hospitalist care during 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM at an on-site inpatient facility in Asheville, North Carolina. The clinician will manage a census of 10-18 patients per shift, conducting rounds and consultations on an RN-staffed unit. Phone call responsibilities are included as part of the clinical duties. Attendance at deliveries and newborn resuscitations is not required, as in-house neonatologists and Level 3 NICU support are maintained by the facility. No call coverage is required beyond the assigned day shift hours. Board certification in Pediatrics, an active North Carolina medical license, and North Carolina DEA registration are required for this assignment.
