Pediatric Hospitalist Locums Job in Virginia | 24-Hour Shifts

Jackson and Coker is seeking an experienced Pediatric Hospitalist for an ongoing locum tenens opportunity in Virginia. This opportunity is with an established healthcare partner where our team has successfully supported pediatric and neonatal coverage in the past. The facility is seeking a physician comfortable independently managing both pediatric inpatient services and newborn nursery coverage.

Details/Requirements:
--Location: Virginia
--Start: ASAP, pending credentialing
--Schedule: 24-hour in-house shifts, 7 AM–7 AM
--Coverage: Approximately 10–11 shifts per month available across the coverage needs
--Duration: Ongoing temporary coverage while the facility addresses staffing gaps
--Setting: Pediatric inpatient service and intermediate care nursery
--Delivery Volume: Approximately 120 deliveries per month
--Nursery Acuity: Generally 34 weeks gestation and above

Clinical Responsibilities:
--Independently cover pediatric inpatient and newborn nursery services
--Attend deliveries and manage newborn care
--Round on pediatric inpatients and newborns
--Manage intermediate nursery patients and coordinate higher-level transfers when necessary
--Provide 24-hour in-house coverage without a dedicated NNP
--Circumcision experience is a plus but not required
