Pediatric Practice Opportunity – Sylvester, Georgia

An established pediatric office in Sylvester, Georgia is seeking a pediatrician or established pediatric practice interested in expanding into our community following the unexpected retirement of our longtime physician due to health concerns.

This is a unique opportunity to step into an established pediatric setting without starting from the ground up. The office has an existing pediatric patient population, experienced staff, an operational location, electronic medical records, established phone and fax systems, equipment, patient rooms, administrative workspace, and strong community relationships.

Our experienced three-person team wishes to remain together and includes a Medical Assistant with 11 years of experience, an Office Manager with 5 years of experience, and a Patient Services/Administrative staff member with 3 years of experience. The team currently manages essentially all non-physician aspects of the office and is prepared to assist with the transition, rebuild patient volume, and continue managing daily operations.

Current patient volume has been intentionally reduced due to our physician's health and unexpected retirement, not because of lack of patient demand. The office is currently seeing approximately 40-60 patients per week, with a goal and anticipated capacity of approximately 100 or more visits per week with consistent provider coverage.

Approximately 90% of the patient population is Medicaid. Participation with Georgia Medicaid managed-care plans, particularly Peach State and Amerigroup, would be important for continuity of care.

We are open to several arrangements. An established pediatric practice could incorporate the office as a Sylvester satellite location, a pediatrician could provide regular or rotating coverage, multiple physicians could share coverage, and appropriate NP/PA support could also be incorporated.

The office has enough space to accommodate up to two providers simultaneously and offers significant opportunity for growth.

Continuity of care is extremely important to our patients and families. We are particularly interested in a provider comfortable with comprehensive pediatric care, including the evaluation and management of ADHD and pediatric behavioral-health conditions and appropriate continuation of established treatment plans when clinically indicated.

We are flexible regarding practice name, EMR, provider scheduling, expanded office hours, and other operational changes. Our primary goals are to preserve our experienced team, maintain continuity for our established patients, and continue providing pediatric care to the Sylvester and surrounding communities.
