Pediatrician
Landstuhl, Germany • Start Date: Immediate • Full-Time • Base Salary: $230,000
We are looking for a board-certified Pediatrician to join our team at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center (LRMC), the largest American military hospital outside the United States.
The clinical environment offers a predictable, structured schedule: 40 hours a week, no weekends, plus paid time off. You'll have the opportunity to work alongside military and civilian healthcare professionals in support of U.S. armed forces in Europe, while experiencing life and culture in Germany. WHAT YOU DO:
Clinical Care
- Provide preventive, diagnostic, and therapeutic medical care to infants, children, adolescents, and young adults
- Conduct physical examinations, assess patient health, and diagnose acute and chronic medical conditions
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and monitor patient progress
- Administer immunizations and provide routine well-child care and health screenings
- Prescribe medications and order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests and laboratory results
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide appropriate intervention and follow-up care
Patient and Family Engagement
- Educate patients and families on health maintenance, disease prevention, nutrition, and treatment plans
- Provide preventive and health maintenance care, including annual physicals and counseling on positive health behaviors and self-care skills
Care Coordination
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care
- Order diagnostic tests and request consultation or referral with appropriate physicians, clinics, or other health resources as indicated
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records in accordance with organizational, regulatory, and legal requirements
Teaching and Leadership
- Direct, teach, and mentor other medical staff, including providing educational lectures and in-service training to clinic staff
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to established clinical standards, policies, and procedures
- Practice within the scope of training, experience, and granted clinical privileges, in accordance with government and professional clinical standards
Professional Standards
- Maintain board certification and participate in ongoing continuing medical education (CME) to sustain clinical competency and licensure
- Respond to medical needs that may occasionally arise outside standard duty hours, consistent with the responsibilities of a hospital-based pediatric practice
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an LCME-accredited (or equivalent) school of medicine
- Completion of an accredited Pediatric Residency Program
- Eligible for or certified by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP)
Experience
- Minimum of two years of experience as a practicing pediatrician within the last three years
Licensure & Certification
- Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice medicine
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
