Responsibilities
• Provide newborn nursery coverage and medical care for infants in the hospital setting
• Perform newborn physical examinations, assessments, and routine screenings
• Evaluate and manage common newborn conditions prior to discharge
• Collaborate with obstetric providers, nursing staff, and hospital teams to ensure coordinated newborn care
• Communicate effectively with families regarding newborn health, treatment plans, and discharge education
• Ensure accurate and timely medical documentation
Qualifications
• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
• Board Certification in Pediatrics
• Active New Mexico medical license or ability to obtain licensure
• Strong clinical, communication, and teamwork skills
• Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered newborn care
