Santa Clara Valley Healthcare (SCVH), a large public teaching healthcare system, affiliated with Stanford University School of Medicine, is seeking a full-time Board Certified/Board Eligible (BC/BE) Physiatrist with experience in inpatient and outpatient settings, to join our dynamic practice in our Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
About Our Organization
SCVMC hosts four residency programs and one fellowship training program, and partners with Stanford University SOM and Stanford Healthcare for the clinical training of medical students, residents, and fellows. SCVMC is an ACS-verified Level 1 Trauma Center, a Level 2 Pediatric Trauma Center, an ABA-verified Burn Center, a Primary Stroke Center, a Level 4 NICU, and a nationally recognized CARF-accredited Rehabilitation Center. Owing to its geographic location and specialty offerings, SCVMC not only serves the County, but also the larger region.
Providers in our health system also have the opportunity to use our integrated electronic health record (Epic), which brings together systemwide patient information. The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at SCVMC provides comprehensive care for individuals with Stroke, Traumatic Brain Injury, Spinal Cord Injury, and other disabling conditions. As a primary teaching site for the Stanford PM&R Residency program, we are committed to education and professional development while delivering exceptional patient care. SCVMC is also a very busy tertiary care hospital designated as a Level 1 Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center, and the PM&R group provides inpatient consultations on complex cases.
About the Position
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both inpatient and outpatient settings, with a focus on neurological rehabilitation medicine while providing care to patients in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. Fellowship training and BC/BE in Brain Injury Medicine or Spinal Cord Injury Medicine is preferred but is not a requirement, and competence in electrodiagnostic procedures and chemodenervation is also preferred but is not a requirement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality inpatient and outpatient care for patients with neurological and other disabling conditions.
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy.
- Participate in teaching and mentorship opportunities for residents and medical students.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and stay current with advancements in the field.
