Cardiothoracic Surgery PA Locums Job in Iowa | Scheduled Clinical Hours + Call | September 7 - Ongoing | Assignment #115364

Open Dates
-- September 7 - 11 (8am-5pm)
-- September 28 - October 2 (8am-5pm)
-- October 5 - 11 (8am-5pm) + night call 
    -- 24-hour call for the 10th and 11th ending at 8am on the 12th
-- November 23 - 28 (8am-5pm) + night call
    -- 24-hour call on the 26th and 28th ending at 7am on the 29th
-- December 21 - 31 (8am-5pm) + night call 
    -- 24-hour call on the 26th and 27th
-- Ongoing coverage available

Shift Description
-- Monday – Friday: 8a–5p
-- Weekend coverage required

Call Details
-- Weeknight call required
-- Saturday – Sunday: 24-hour call coverage
-- Call ratio 1:2

Requirements
-- Board Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C)
-- License = open to ALL candidates (a new PA license is only taking 4-6 weeks right now!) - please note status at name clear 
-- ACLS and BLS certifications
-- Minimum 2 years of cardiothoracic surgery experience
-- Clean malpractice and background history
-- Should be proficient in all aspects of Cardiothoracic Surgery including but not limited to CABG and EVH that goes with that, open valvular surgery, thoracic procedures such as thoracotomy, lobectomy

Assignment Details
-- Level 2 trauma facility
-- Averages 125 CABG cases/year (few are emergent)
-- Approximately 125 CABG cases annually
-- OR, ICU/Floor management in hospital, weekday night call, weekend 24 hour call
-- No outpatient clinic expect OR daily and management of inpatients
-- Assisting daily in the OR with surgery
-- Cases per day:  1 or 2 cases
