Job Description

Gould Medical Group is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Psychiatrist to serve as Medical Director for our Partial Hospitalization/Intensive Outpatient Program for behavior health. The Medical Director provides clinical leadership, medical oversight, and direct psychiatric care to ensure safe, effective, and compliant treatment delivery.

 

Gould Medical Group is a growing, 600+ clinician multi-specialty group located about two hours east of San Francisco, California. Our communities offer quick access to the bay area as well as other hot spots such as Napa Valley, Yosemite, and Lake Tahoe. 

Position Details:

  • Starting base salary: $340,000
  • 0.8 FTE clinical psychiatry and 0.2 FTE administrative
  • Sign-on bonus
  • Two-year salary guarantee
  • RVU based compensation model starting in year 2
  • RVU bonus potential during guarantee
  • Residency stipend available
  • Provide physician leadership and oversight of all PHP/IOP clinical services and behavioral health department services
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to support coordinated care
  • Participate in call coverage rotation responsibilities consistent with Behavioral Health department needs
  • Ensure therapeutic approaches align with program goals and evidence-based practices
  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide medication management
  • Supervise and collaborate with Advanced Practice Providers and multidisciplinary team members
  • Support staff with clinical questions, case discussions, and treatment planning
  • Ensure compliance with state, federal, and accreditation standards
  • Participate in case conferences, treatment team meetings, and quality-improvement initiatives and program development activities
  • Oversee appropriate patient flow and adherence to safety and documentation standards
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation within the electronic health record system (Epic)
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, program managers and other behavioral health professionals to ensure high-quality, evidence-based care
  • Promote a patient-centered, recovery-oriented model of care
  • Behavioral Health department consists of Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, and Advanced Practice Clinicians
