Adult Correctional Psychiatry Medical Director Locums Job | California Bay Area
Join a well-established correctional behavioral health program seeking a full-time Adult Psychiatrist in a leadership-focused role. This position offers a hybrid schedule with a combination of onsite and remote work while overseeing psychiatric services across a large correctional healthcare system.
Position Highlights:
--Full-time, 40 hours per week
--ASAP start with ongoing assignment
--Hybrid schedule with onsite and remote flexibility
--Day shifts between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM
--8 or 10-hour shifts available
--Approximately 2 to 4 weeks for credentialing
--Six-month minimum commitment preferred with extension opportunities
Leadership Responsibilities:
--Provide clinical leadership for psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, and quality assurance staff
--Supervise psychiatric nurse practitioners
--Participate in and facilitate meetings, trainings, and operational initiatives
--Assist with scheduling, policy development, quality assurance reviews, and program oversight
--Collaborate with leadership to support behavioral health operations
Additional Details:
--No direct patient care responsibilities
--Experience in correctional psychiatry or county jail settings preferred
--Prior leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred
--Must be comfortable working within electronic medical record systems and Microsoft Office applications
