Psychiatrist | Denver, CO
Salary: $280,000 - $320,000 annually
Additional Compensation: $2,000 per weekend on-call assignment
Join a collaborative behavioral health team dedicated to providing exceptional psychiatric care across residential and partial hospitalization settings. The Psychiatrist will diagnose and treat a range of mental health conditions, prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, provide psychotherapy, determine appropriate levels of care, and work closely with multidisciplinary teams to support positive patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, and medication management.
- Treat patients with mood, anxiety, eating, and co-occurring disorders using evidence-based practices.
- Determine appropriate levels of care and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation.
- Collaborate with therapists, nurses, referring providers, and family members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in utilization reviews and advocate for optimal patient treatment and length of stay.
- Support quality improvement initiatives, education, mentorship, and program development.
Qualifications:
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
- Completion of an accredited Psychiatry residency program.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Psychiatry and/or Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.
- Active Colorado medical license (or ability to obtain).
- Current BLS/CPR certification.
- Knowledge of Joint Commission and regulatory standards.
Schedule & Call Requirements:
- Full-time (1.0 FTE), Monday-Friday schedule.
- Participate in the medical staff weekend call rotation.
- Call coverage runs from Friday evening through Monday morning.
- Conduct in-person inpatient rounds on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
- Provide psychiatric call coverage for inpatient units during assigned weekends.
- Additional compensation of $2,000 per weekend call assignment.
- Current call frequency is approximately once every 2-3 months.
