Chief Medical Officer - Behavioral Health
Geisinger Behavioral Health Center Northeast (GBN) is seeking a dynamic, mission-driven Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to provide visionary clinical leadership and help shape a high-performing, patient-centered behavioral health system. This is a rare opportunity to lead at scale within an innovative, integrated health system committed to advancing mental health care delivery.
Position Overview
The Chief Medical Officer will provide clinical and strategic leadership for the psychiatric service line, overseeing a multidisciplinary team of physician providers and advanced practice clinicians. This leader will be instrumental in supporting psychiatry team members, advancing models of care, and sustaining service excellence across the region.

Facility & Program Highlights
92-bed behavioral health hospital
Average Daily Census: 80-84 patients
Comprehensive services, including intensive outpatient programs
Medical staff oversight: 7 physician providers plus a team of APPs
Psychiatry residency program:
o 3 residents per year, with planned growth to 5 residents annually

Required Qualifications
MD or DO with completed residency in Psychiatry
Active Board Certification
Eligible for or able to obtain Pennsylvania medical license and DEA
Minimum 7 years of post-residency/fellowship clinical experience
Current or prior leadership experience in an inpatient or acute care health system setting
Willingness to actively practice clinically as part of the role
